About this Service

Hello! My name is Miranda F. Smith. I have over 20+ years working as a Clinician for the VA Medical Center. I have a Supervisory Independent Social Work License. Areas of experience include: Hospice/Oncology, Mental Health and Addictions. I have expertise working with diverse populations i.e. Women, Pride Community, Multi-Cultural and Christian-based. As a clinician, who has worked with diverse genders and sexualities I can assist with exploring gender identity or other concerns that you may have. In working with Multi-Cultural and Christian-based populations, I have gained the ability to improve communication and learning , to facilitate difficult dialogues and establish rapport. I have specialty experience with Coping, Stress, PTSD, and Mental Disorders. I believe that a Clinician should start where the client is at. This treatment approach helps with building genuine rapport with individual clients. My goal is to build upon what is working in the client’s life- using the Strength’s Perspective. I would work with the client to determine what issues that should be address and apply the most appropriate interventions to ensure client success.
