About this Service

I am a Licensed Independent Social Worker-Supervisor in the State of Ohio and have been actively practicing for over 20 years. I have been a School Social Worker for over 21 years working with all age groups of children and I have also always provided professional counseling services through contract agencies. I have experience in working with young children with focus and behavioral problems, teens and young adults with issues such as neglect, abuse, trauma, grief, loss and anxiety/depressive disorders. Through my contract experience I have done forensic interviewing, worked with agencies to provide private counseling and have also worked for a Dual Diagnosis and Psychiatric hospital for over four years. I have experience with clients who have developmental disabilities as well and am versed in Educational jargon, plans and place settings. I understand what happens day in and day out at a school setting and the issues that occur in public schools.

My style and approach is always to build a therapeutic, successful relationship with my clients. I don’t believe in taking in large numbers of clients and providing the same service to all. I have experience in trauma, grief and loss and also self-esteem. I believe in psycho-education with clients because I feel it is important for them to understand what they are going through and to accept limitations or diagnoses and move forward. I believe in working with the symptoms someone is having, not only looking into a diagnosis. I use Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy and Solution-focused therapy. I am completing training in trauma certification with children and plan to continue this path.

I believe my greatest gift is the ability to make clients feel accepted and understood without judgment. I will help you to set goals and learn how to manage any symptoms you may be having and struggles to the best of my ability.
